Oakdale Student Renames Street in Front of School

Third grader Sarah Sullivan unveils new street name.

For the third consecutive year, Oakdale Elementary School Principal Holli Armstrong has held a raffle at the school and the winner, chosen before school ends, has the honor of "naming" the half circle street that leads to Oakdale`s front door.

Names were placed in a jar, and with the help of student councilor Aly Logan, Ms.
Armstrong pulled out this year`s contest winner - third grade student Sarah Sullivan.

After a great deal of thought, Sarah chose to name the 500 ft. street after herself.

Thanks to the continued help and support of Joe Flanagan and the Dedham DPW,
the new street sign was recently put in place. From now until next year`s raffle,
when you need to go to the Oakdale Elementary School, make sure you take a turn on Sarah Sullivan Street when you are driving down Cedar Street.

Congratulations Sarah, and thanks to all those involved.
