Diet Advice Simplified

Are you overwhelmed with all the crazy diet advice out there? Here are simple changes that are more effective than any fad diet.

Less Sugar. Less Grains. Less Starches.
More Vegetables. More Unprocessed Meat.
Drink only water.

Winning
That is a recipe for a winning diet. There isn't a nutritionist or dietitian on earth that would fight me on that advice. If you want to lose weight safely, eat more vegetables, less bread and pasta. It's really that simple.

Portion Sizes
Don't worry about over eating. You can't over eat on (non-starchy) vegetables and unprocessed meat. When most people switch to this diet they find it's hard to eat enough. A great consequence of this diet is once you get completely off refined sugars, fruits become flavorful deserts. When you eat processed foods that are sweeter than anything that occurs naturally, it's diminishes your taste sensitivity.

A Dangerous Game
Eating processed meats such as sausages, preserved meats, meatloaf, and fish sticks is like playing Russian Roulette. You have no idea how old the meat is or what else is in there. I only eat fish, eggs, and meat that is in it's simplest form (with the exception of fresh grass-fed hamburgers).

The Speed of Change
Don't try to make too many changes at once. Each week try to improve one or two things in your diet. Within a month you'll have made many positive changes without turning your life upside down.

Living Life
I want to be clear that I'm not saying you can never eat bread or ice cream again. Be honest with yourself on what lifestyle changes are possible and have realistic expectations with respect to your weight loss time frame. Some people need one cheat meal per week, others need two per week.

There's no right or wrong answer. Find what works for you.
