What's Open, Closed in Dedham on Christmas

Your go-to resource for what's open and closed throughout town on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

Here's a handy list of what's open and closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year:

Tuesday, Dec. 24

  • Retail stores: Most open, some with varied hours.
  • Supermarkets, liquor stores and convenience stores: Most open.
  • Bars and restaurants: Most open.
  • Walgreens: Most stores will be open until midnight through Christmas Eve. Pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 24 hour stores are always open. 
  • Town offices: Dedham Town Hall will close at 1 p.m.
  • Library: The Dedham Public Library will close at 1 p.m.
  • Banks: Some open, most close early.
  • Schools: Closed.
  • Post office: Open.
  • MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule; The Franklin Line will operate a regular weekday schedule
  • Trash/Recycling: Regular schedule.

Wednesday, Dec. 25

  • Retail stores: Closed.
  • Supermarkets and liquor stores: Closed.
  • Convenience stores: Most open.
  • Bars and restaurants: Open at owners' discretion.
  • Walgreens: Most non-24-hour stores will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Select pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 24-hour stores and pharmacies are always open.
  • CVS: Some stores open; call for hours.
  • Town offices & library: Closed.
  • Banks: Closed.
  • Schools: Closed.
  • Post office: Closed.
  • MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule; The Franklin Line will operate a Sunday schedule
  • Trash/Recycling: Collection Day is delayed one day. Friday collection will be picked up on Saturday.
