Revolutionary War soldier - Grave Marking Ceremony

The Massachusetts Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (MASSAR), the nation's preeminent lineage society for descendants of the Patriots who fought and won the American Revolution, is pleased to announce an important event.

We have scheduled a grave marking ceremony in Dedham, MA on April 19, 2014 @ 10:30 am to honor Capt. Joseph Lewis, who is interred in the Old Village Cemetery in Dedham, MA.   Information about Capt. Lewis can be found at:http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23915808

Captain Lewis marched with fellow citizen-soldiers on April 19, 1775 to Lexington, and we will be marking his grave 239 years to the day of this important event.

The MASSAR Color Guard will be participating, including SAR compatriot George Lipphardt,  a descendant of Capt. Lewis.

The general public is invited to attend this event.

For more information, please contact Andy Schell, VP for Membership Development for the Boston chapter of MASSAR, at aschell@massar.org.

Thank you.
