In December of 2012, the Dedham Sustainability Advisory Committee created the Dedham Solar Challenge. This program encouraged the 900 homes in Dedham suitable for solar to receive a free solar assessment and find out about going solar in their homes for little or no-cost. The results have been impressive: over 70 homes have had the assessment and 27 homes have decided to install panels on their roofs. All participants earned a $50 gift card to Legacy Place and homes which install panels will earn the Town $250 to use toward sustainability programs for all to enjoy like a public gardening program.

All attendees will also learn how to improve the energy efficiency of their home through the no -cost energy assessment. These no-cost energy assessments provide a comprehensive home energy assessment, instant savings measures, free air sealing, and 75% off insulation up to $2,000 per year!

If you schedule an energy assessment through the event your church will earn a $10 donation and your home will be on a path to being a more comfortable and sustainable home which costs less to heat and cool in the coming year.
