Amber Spyglass is primarily the collaboration of Kelly Spyglass (vocals, guitars) and John DeGregorio (guitars, bass, programming). Starting in the late 90's as a dark alternative band with Gothic, ethereal leanings, they continue to build upon Gothic roots with updated folky arrangements to their older songs, while newer material is firmly anchored in Kelly's songwriting and guitar finger-picking style.
Currently Amber Spyglass performs as a quartet with violin & cello but at every stage their sound has been marked with multi-layered arrangements featuring progressive and tribal drums, world music flourishes, sampling, alternate guitar tunings and stringed instruments.
