When the Sun is Shining, the DCH Pool Beckons with a Community Swim

You work hard, but your to-do list never seems to get any shorter. Now it's time to take a break and enjoy yourself. It’s your time. Take it.

What a difference between this week and last! Last week felt like March, but now the humidity has set it and it’s more like July. Luckily the Dedham Community House will help you stay cool this Memorial Day weekend.

Last year the unveiled their new pool and pool house.

They’ve done a great job of designing a facility with something for everyone – singles, couples, and families with kids of all ages will feel welcome. At any given time you might see a water aerobics class, kids playing Marco Polo, and families eating a picnic dinner.

There’s a fair amount of seating as well as space for blankets or towels, and a covered eating area with tables if you want to pack a lunch or dinner. But perhaps my favorite part of the pool is that it really does engender a sense of community, true to DCH’s name and mission.

It’s a great place to catch up with neighbors, friends, and all of those people you always run into and want to get to know better.

The pool opens this weekend, and they’re offering community swim times on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 2 pm. During these times, the pool will be free and open to the public. It’s a great way to cool down after some yardwork and check out the facility.
