Week in Review: More MBTA Cuts, Haiti Donations Held in Port

A look back at some of the stories we covered this week.

Dedham Temple Pastor Philippe Emmanuel Joseph called local Haitian authorities "greedy" for holding a 45-foot trailer full of donations for the impoverished country hostage and asking for $6,000 to release it. The donations were given by Dedham residents and shipped to Haiti in September 2010, eight months after an earthquake crippled the island.

The MBTA has proposed axing a suburban bus subsidy that gives thousands of dollars to Dedham to allow the town to operate a bus line for residents. Without that money, town officials said they'll have a tough time keeping the service running.

Parents and students both gave positive feedback to administrators about the school's netbook pilot program that has given a computer to every freshmen class student. 

A Dedham man serving in Afghanistan received a Bronze Star from the Army for his service. Andrew Lawlor is expected to return stateside next month.

Bunnies will soon be popping up around town and all to benefit the proposed arts center at the current . Local artists will paint the bunnies, which will be sponsored by local businesses in hopes to raise money for the new non-profit center.
