Week in Review: Driver Dies in Crash, Schools Plan Irks Parents

A driver died late Monday evening in a fiery crash on Bridge Street. Police are continuing to investigate, and have not released personal details of the driver.

Abutters of the new Avery Elementary School construction site are still worried about what their backyards once the project finishes, even after the committee has moved forward with a plan to remove up to 4,000 cubic yards of dirt.

Parents and homeowners cried out against a plan to move several streets to different elementary schools, arguing it will lower their home values. The School Committee will hold a public meeting on the topic in April.

Work soon will begin on the Keystone parking lot, kicking off the Dedham Square Improvement Project. Officials don't have an exact day when construction will start, but say it will begin soon.

Dedham selectman said they were pleased with the Library Board of Trustees selection for their new director. Mary Ann Tricarico is looking forward to forming a strategic plan for the library system.
