Town Thanks Those Who Helped with Bake Sale for One Fund

On Thursday, May 2, the Town of Dedham Town Hall had a bake sale and raffle to benefit the One Fund Boston Foundation for Marathon bombing victims.

People from Town Hall, Police, and Fire donated delicious baked goods, and even residents were kind enough to bring in food.

Raffle gifts included a beautiful arrangement of flowers from Courtyard Florists in Dedham Square, a huge fruit basked donated by Rich and Mary Henderson, gift cards to Bed, Bath and Beyond, Dunkin’ Donuts, P.F. Chang, and Bristol Square Café in Walpole, a Patriots blanket donated by Joanne from Allin Congregational Church, and a beautiful afghan created by Acting Treasurer Donna Bowse. Other items included cookbooks, lanyards, potholders, and hair embellishments, as well as delicious salad dressing from Our Favorite.

Lauren Kanelos sold 390 rubber bracelets commemorating Boston and its strength during this difficult time.

The people of Town Hall and Dedham rose to the occasion above beyond what had been hoped.

I do want to thank a young lady in particular, Faith Munchbach, a third grader, who gave up playing on a beautiful spring day to volunteer at the sale. Her dedication was totally amazing! I am so pleased to say that we raised $1,800 for One Fund Boston.
