Students Rush into New Rashi

After raising $30 million from donors, the Rashi School, completed this summer, opened today to its students. Students flooded the sun-lit hallways and checked out the new technology-filled classrooms. The NewBridge on the Charles location of Rashi is the school's first permanent home. Students attended a much smaller Rashi School in Newton last school year.

Waterfront Nuptials for John Carey and Kara Clifford

Best wishes to Dedham's John Carey and Kara Clifford. Kara, who grew up in Westwood has worked at Isabella in Dedham square for many years. The couple was married in Wareham this past weekend right on the water at Kara's family's boat house. Dedham Patch was told the weather was gorgeous, the food was amazing, they had an awesome band and everyone had the best time! It was the perfect way to end the summer. Congratulations!

Town Honors Mucciaccio On Retirement

Anthony "JuJu" Mucciaccio, Jr. retired after 30 years as the director of Parks and Recreation, and the town held a retirement party for Mucciaccio last week at the Dolan Center. Mucciaccio oversaw numerous changes to the town, including the construction of the Dolan Center on Common Street. Parks and Recreation committee members invited past members and former colleagues of Mucciaccio's to a meeting in late July, the last committee meeting Mucciaccio attended as director.

ECEC New Principal Ready for First Day of School

Wednesday will mark the first day for many district teachers, and the new principal of the Early Childhood Education Center. Superintendent June Doe introduced Jessica Hammond at a School Committee meeting in August. Hammond is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island.

Local Author's Book An International Hit

Congratulations to Dedham's Peter Reynolds, whose books "Ish" and Tess's Tree" were just published internationally in Mongolian and Japanese! Peter and his brother Paul own Blue Bunny Books & Toys, 577 High St. in Dedham Square.

Isabella's:  Celebrating 16 Years

Congratulations are also in order for Isabella's in Dedham Square which just celebrated 16 years in business. Congratulations to owner Frank Santo and his staff. Isabella Restaurant is located at 566 high St. in Dedham Square.
