Social Media Highlights of the Week: May 8-14

Here at Dedham Patch, we take social media pretty seriously.

The platform is one way we look to interact with you, answer your questions and get to see what's on your mind. Social Media Sunday is a weekly feature where we highlight your questions and thoughts you've shared on Facebook, Twitter and other media throughout the past week.

We'll also point you to some new and interesting pages you may not have known about before.

Highlights of the Week

• With Town Meeting approaching on Monday, we asked our Facebook fansif they support authorizing $6.1 million for the Dedham Square Improvement Project. 'Yes' votes led early - at one point had 50 votes compared to a single 'No.' Through Sunday morning, there have been 123 votes cast for 'Yes' and 21 for 'No' for a percentage of 85 percent in favor.
• We had 18 people comment on the poll - most spoke in support.Lisa Kaljian MacKinnon wrote, "I support this project. The square is a vital part of the Dedham community and this project is about making the square safe. Please help make it a safer place to shop, eat, catch a movie, or drive through by supporting this project!"
• The only dissenting comment came from Ken Ellis. He wrote, "The Police and Fire Departments have needed new facilities for a long time but the requests always get put on a back burner. Then comes along a small select business group with only their interests in mind and everybody jumps to push this project through as fast as they can.Let's get the Town's priorities straight!"
• The Mother Brook Community Group posted a few pictures of.
• The Animal Rescue League of Boston announced on its Facebook page that it launched a new blog.
