Social Media Highlights of the Week: June 13-19

A roundup of notes from our social media platform during the last week.

Here at Dedham Patch, we take social media pretty seriously.

The platform is one way we look to interact with you, answer your questions and get to see what's on your mind. Social Media Sunday is a weekly feature where we highlight your questions and thoughts you've shared on FacebookTwitter and other media throughout the past week.

We'll also point you to some new and interesting pages you may not have known about before.

  • Several people and Facebook pages recommended watching the Dedham presentation at the All-America City competition on Thursday - and as of Sunday morning, Dedham's presentation was the sixth most-watched presentation on UStream.tv, the website used to video stream the event.
  • Two of our stories on the library garnered attention on Facebook, and other websites. Thirteen people 'liked' the articles on the Dedham Library Innovation Team's page this week.
  • We now have 319 fans on Facebook and 668 followers on Twitter.
  • After we posted news that a pedestrian was hit at BJ's Wholesale Club on Wednesday, Janet Sandborg Locke said, "parking lot is so dangerous! people fly through there trying to escape traffic lights to get onto Eastern Avenue." Editor's note for clarification: the driver of the vehicle was along the front of the store, not along the side road leading to Eastern Avenue.
  • Looking to move forward with construction, ARL of Boston Dedham Shelter's Facebook page reposted our story about toward their new shelter.

With their nearly daily postings of food specials, Salem Food Market makes us hungry for a good meal just about everyday.
