Say Cheese...and Ham and Potatoes!

Five minutes to prepare and let your slow cooker do the rest.

Five minutes. That’s all that’s required for this recipe’s prep time. As it was cooking I was saying to myself “Please, please, please let this recipe taste as good as it looks." Thankfully, it did!

Some weeks are just busier than others, so a five minute prep for a good home cooked “comfort food” meal was a godsend for me this week. If it wasn’t for this recipe, no doubt I’d be calling for pizza delivery! If you’ve got an impossibly busy week coming up, include this recipe’s ingredients in your shopping list and you’ll have a dinner that you can pull together in five minutes.  Let the slow cooker work its magic for for the next six to seven hours.

When I think of ham, I think holidays, so I don’t cook it as much as I should, probably because I think of the old standbys instead: ground meat, chicken, steak. Ham and cheesy potatoes are a perfect combination.  Add a salad or steam some broccoli, or another favorite veggie, and you have a  hot home cooked meal to sit around the table with. The dinner table is a great place to catch up on everyone’s day!
