Patch Picks: 5 Places to Staycation

Thinking of what to do over April vacation without breaking the bank on Disneyworld? Check out these five suggestions.

April vacation is soon approaching, and most families are probably looking for ways to save a bit of money while spending time with each other - especially considering the soaring gas prices.

Here are five suggestions for "staycations" in and around Dedham.

  1. Wilson Mountain - We know. It's cold. But give it a few weeks and take the family for a hike, pack lunch and enjoy nature.
  2. Area Museums - Take a peek at this week's  column and take Colleen's advice. Swing by the library and purchase museum passes for cheap.
  3. Franklin Zoo - Celebrate Earth Day at the Franklin Park Zoo on April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet zookeepers of all sorts of animals and take part in a whole host of activities throughout the day.
