Online Deals for Dedham and Beyond

"Whoever said money couldn't buy happiness, simply didn't know where to go shopping!" - Bo Derek

Maybe you've heard a bit about some of these new one-day deal sites, but what are they really?

Coupons? Groupons? Daily Deals? What does it all mean, and where do you go to take advantage of some incredible bargains?

The answer is, you don't have to leave your house! All you need is a computer, a few minutes of time, a few clicks of your mouse, and you can be dining in style for less, or perhaps enjoying a helicopter ride over Boston.

Frugal Family has spent the past week exploring many of the available online bargain sites, most of which, will send you a daily email, to your inbox, with their "deal of the day."  If you would like to take advantage of the offer, you simply purchase the deal using your credit card, and on most sites, they will email you a voucher that you bring to the merchant to redeem.

Most of the sites listed require a minimum number of people to purchase a daily deal, for the deal to happen.  FF hasn't seen a deal not happen in the past week.

Some recent deals have included, 50 percent off at local dining establishments, huge discounts on hotels, local attractions, limousines and clothing stores.

With each of the site FF is listing here, you select "Boston" as your city, and you will automatically receive the daily deals emailed that are local to you.

Have fun, and certainly each day won't be a deal perfect for you, but it has sure been fun waiting to see what bargains arrive in the inbox each morning!

  1. Livingsocial.com: Offers ONE fantastic deal everyday with discounts at local restaraunts, bars and theaters. This is a Frugal Family favorite as you have the opportunity to get your deal for FREE if three friends sign up for deal through your unique link!
  2. Coupon Mom: Save time and money with lists of the best grocery deals in the country. They match your stores sales with coupons available.

  3. Daily Deals for Moms: Seems like this site is much smaller than the other sites, and not as user friendly. FF is not a huge fan, and would suggest the other sites over this one.

  4. Groupon: Check your email, Facebook or Twitter for daily deals on local businesses. offered a 50 percent off Groupon a few months back, with huge success. You can earn $10 Groupon bucks for inviting friends.

  5. Dealgator: Takes the work out of finding and keeping track of daily deals. This site is great, and FF thinks it is the ONLY email you need to sign up to receive! Basically lists the deals (local to the city you choose) from 20-30 group-buying sites.
