That's not the featured end of the horse in the painting!!!

Stephanie is right, the focal point is very different in the actual painting. A rather strange vantage point really. The artist seemed to struggle with proportion/scale and perspective. We were amused by it.

I am always amused when entering town hall the giant painting at the top of the stairs featured the posterior end of Washington's horse.
