Dana and Al Whidden recently renewed their vows in Cana, Israel while on a church retreat. During the retreat with their church, St. John's Chrysoston in West Roxbury, they visited Bethlehem, Nazareth, West Bank, Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea among a few other places.
Dana and Al have been married now for 40 years and have lived in Dedham for 38 years. Dana said she was very happy and wanted her husband to know, "I am blessed you are in my life and I look forward to another wonderful 40 years with you."
Sustainability Advisory Committee Meeting

The Sustainability Advisory Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the lower conference room of . During the meeting they will begin re-organizing the committee, appointing a member to the Master Plan Implementation Committee, discussing the green communities grant, among other things.
Oakdale Square Alliance to Meet Tonight

Oakdale Square Alliance will meet tonight at from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Some areas of discussion will include the Dedham veteran's tribute, electing a vice president, establishing task forces and holiday decoration plans for Oakdale Square. The alliance urges everyone to bring ideas of what can be done to make Oakdale shine this holiday season.
Training Hard
For the last three months, Juliette Byrnes has trained to run the Philadelphia Marathon. You might have seen her running through Dedham these past few months. She said has she's enjoyed running over the years, and decided to go for the Philadelphia race. She is also a swim instructor at Dedham Pool. She said she is excited to run the marathon and feels ready for the challenge.
Legacy of Giving
Work on your holiday shopping lists and benefit a couple charities at the same time this weekend at Legacy Place's "Legacy of Giving" event. From 3-8 p.m. Sunday, shoppers can purchase a $10 ticket that will entitle them to various store discounts up to 30 percent and entry into raffles, including Jet Blue plane tickets.
All of the proceeds will benefit the charities. Shoppers can purchase tickets from charities they would like to benefit, like the Ellie Fund and HESSCO, or purchase them at the event. For a list of participating charities, click here.
