Looking Ahead: School Committee Holds Budget Public Hearing, Playoff Basketball, Hockey Begins

A look at some of the stories we'll follow this week.

As we turn the calendar into March, we all know what lies ahead - besides the month that drags on - playoff basketball and hockey, and budget season.

  • The Dedham School Committee will meet Wednesday night and hold a public hearing on . When the committee voted to support the budget, no public comment was made. The meeting was held on a snow day.
  • Town Administrator Bill Keegan will lay out specific budget information on Saturday morning for each of the town's departments.
  • State Rep. Paul McMurtury will help bring attention to the Meals on Wheels program on Tuesday morning when he delivers food to senior citizens.
  • Dedham Patch will continue coverage of the town elections coming up in April.
  • basketball teams will kick-off MIAA playoffs this week. The boys tip tonight at home against Foxborough and the girls go on a trip to Hanson on Tuesday. The boys hockey team will battle Oliver Ames on Wednesday night in Canton.
