UPDATE: Dedham Square Improvement Project

Here is an update on what is happening with the project since it shut down for the winter.

Since March 18, NSTAR Gas has been working on a gas main replacement project in Dedham Square.  But this is not a part of the Dedham Square Improvement Project.

NSTAR has agreed to work with FED Corp. and pay for all of the sidewalk restoration and overlaying the roadway. According to NSTAR gas, they are hoping to complete their work within 10 weeks.

NSTAR will be working during the day, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

"It is necessary to perform this work during the day due to the sensitivity and safety aspects of working on gas utilities," Dedham Square contractors said. "A majority of the gas mains are located near the edge of the roadway and temporary parking restrictions within NSTAR’s work area should be anticipated."

According to the Dedham Square Improvement Project contractors, the project will restart in late May or early June.  And work will primarily be done at night, from Sunday through Thursday.

If anyone has questions about the gas main project, residents can call NSTAR Gas at 617-424-2967.
