Established in 1979, the DJWC has been involved in virtually every facet of community life in Dedham by assisting schools, athletic organizations, public service departments (police and fire), cultural organizations, and non-profit service organizations such as the Dedham Food Pantry and Dedham Youth Commission.

DJWC’s reach extends beyond Dedham, as well, offering time, monetary donations, and donations of goods to social service organizations in the Boston area.

For example, the Club has supported Dove (a residential facility for victims of domestic violence), The Women’s Lunch Place (a support facility in Boston for poor and homeless women and children), the Kitty Dukakis Treatment Center for Women (a facility that assists homeless women suffering from addiction), and the Fairy Godmother Project (a program that collects formal dresses for disadvantaged students wishing to attend their prom).
