Come one, come all to Dedham Country Day School’s 62nd Annual Spring Fair. This year’s fair theme is a “Salute to American Heroes” and the circus is coming to Dedham Country Day (DCD) for the second year in a row! The Salute to Heroes-themed Circus and Street Fair will dazzle and delight children of all ages on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 90 Sandy Valley Rd. in Dedham. Trapeze artists and clowns from Cirque du Soleil and Circus Smirkus will amaze you with death-defying feats, daring stunts, and side-splitting comedy. A must-see for all ages!
But, it’s not just a circus… the Salute to Heroes Circus and Street Fair will be in full swing with games and amusement rides, Barn Babies Traveling Petting Zoo, local artisans, unique vendors, a used toy and book sale, and lots of good food, including Tex’s BBQ Express of Dedham. Local heroes such as firefighters, police officers, and military personnel with their vehicles, as well as Bosco the police dog, will be on hand to meet, greet, and be honored by the crowd.
For fun try your aim at the dunk tank, have your face painted, or enter to win one of many exciting raffle prizes. Raffle prizes include tickets to see the Patriots in a luxury suite at Gillette Stadium, concert tickets to see Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z at Fenway in August, and Bon Jovi at Gillette too. Send your friends and family members to the “big house” jail or peruse the booths at our second-ever shopping arcade featuring handmade jewelry, personalized gifts, and other seasonal items from local home businesses. Familiar retail stores such as Nest, Chrislee, Lisa Whitney Antique Prints, and Harding Lane headwear will help you find the perfect Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift.
The Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with hour-long circus performances at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Circus and Street Fair will be held rain or shine. Fair admission is free. Circus, raffle, and tickets for food, games, and rides are available for purchase now at www.dedhamcountryday.org/DCDFair. All proceeds benefit DCD’s financial aid program. In the spirit of honoring American heroes, DCD is proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
