Avery Looks to Arts; Neighbors Searching for Tree Solution

As the year winds down, the Avery Re-Use Committee is wrapping up their work on repurposing the current Avery Elementary School. The committee will decide on their recommendations in the next couple weeks, and submit a few ideas to the Board of Selectmen.

The School Building Rehabilitation Committee is still working on a solution on what to do with a large dirt hill behind homes next to the Avery School construction site. The committee is looking for a way to satisfy as many neighbors as possible, while staying within budget.

Several local stores are taking advantage of a new town bylaw that allows them to open early. Some stores will open as early as midnight on Black Friday.

Following a 1-0 playoff defeat to Duxbury, Dedham girl's soccer coach Don Savi touched on the successes of his team this season as they earned a share of a division title. Savi said he'll take the next couple months to decide if he'll remain in charge of the team.

Jack and Eric Linari received a special treat this week when they were honored for their charity work. The Linari brothers joined other children from around the Boston area to meet with Red Sox slugger David Ortiz at an Animal Rescue League shelter.
