5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 30

The Dedham High softball, baseball teams' tournament schedules have been announced.

"Five Things You Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with local, daily information at a glance.

1. Expect clouds for most of the day, with a chance of showers from 10 a.m. on, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures should top out around 81 degrees.

3. The MIAA released its softball tournament brackets yesterday. The Dedham High girls earned a bye with their strong regular season and will play their first tournament game against Holliston on Saturday. The game will be at home, at 3 p.m.

4. The also made the tournament despite a 5-13 record, and will play at Diman Voke in Fall River Friday at 3 p.m. for an opportunity to play on Saturday.

5. If you're a basketball player, you'll probably want to watch the Celtics take on the Heat tonight in the Eastern Conference Finals. But if you're more baller and less spectator, the Dedham Community House will offer open gym for high schoolers tonight at 8:15 p.m.
