5 Things To Do This Weekend: Sept. 30-Oct. 2

Stroll through the Square, toss hazardous waste and catch some soccer action this weekend.

It's Thursday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Dedham Patch is coming to the rescue.


  1. When/Where: Day-of registration begins at 11:15 a.m. at the
    Why go: Run the three-mile flat course to raise money for the Dedham Education Foundation. The more money raised, the more supplies and better off kids will be in school.
    Pricing: $20  Pre-entry / $25 day of the race
  2. NEEDHAM BANK TOURNAMENT FINAL
    When/Where:
    Saturday at 7 p.m. at
    Why go: The Dedham High School boy's soccer team will take on Westwood High School in the Needham Bank Touranment finals. Not only are Rte. 109 bragging rights on the line, but the game also has playoff implications for the Marauders.
    Pricing: Free, unless you want a hot dog.

  3. When/Where:
    5-9 p.m. in Dedham Square
    Why go: Support local businesses by stopping in at a Square restaurant or shop. Many places will have deals and refreshments throughout the evening.
    Pricing: Free to stroll, but pick something up
  4. When/Where: 8 a.m. at the Why go: Get rid of some of the hazardous materials in your home in a safe way.
    Pricing: Free for Dedham residents

  5. Where/When: 
    345 University Ave, Westwood; Sunday, Oct. 2: 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
    Why Go:
    Come check out a day will be filled with competitions, challenges, performances, demonstrations and prizes.
