School Committe Meeting Tonight for Superintendent

I am a concerned citizen who has a child in the Dedham school system. Michael Welch of Framingham is one of the finalists who was at Framingham High School when an alleged sexual assault of 2 minors by a male student took place in 2012. No action was taken by the principal, Michael Welch,  until 5 days before the school year ended . A Federal lawsuit has been file in the US District court in Boston On Feb. 14 of this year for violations of Title IX . The claim is that the administrators at Framingham High, including Michael Welch mishandled sexual assualt complaints against a male student and that a former employee who brought it to Mr. Welch's attention was harassed at work to the point where he resigned. The Framingham police and Middlesex district attorney's office investigated the claims  and no charges were brought against the male student.

I find it disturbing that a finalist for the superintendent position would be a person at the center of this horrific claim.  I have to believe that the screening committee either did not have this information at the time of the initial interviews or they did, and felt it was not looked at more seriously. I would expect that our superintendent would be above reproach and would have our children's emotional and social concerns at the forefront. Having done my research, I have my doubts.

I understand everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but I do not want to see this candidate as our next superintendent with this hanging out there. If he is hired, will he be able to give 100% to our schools and children or will his attention be divided with defending his name. And what happens if he is found guilty? Is this the type of superintendent we want leading or school system?
