Our new Visions for Vacancies feature begins this week, a spot where you can have your say and sound off on what a vacant business property should become before plans are drawn.

Each week Dedham Patch will highlight a vacant building or structure in the Dedham community.

This week we turn to the Dedham Mall area and the former home of , which closed earlier this year.

But what should replace the retail space? There are already plenty of food establishments - , and - so what type of business would complement and fit well at the Dedham Mall area?

It's a very high-traffic location with plenty of people from Boston neighborhoods and Dedham , stopping for coffee at and heading to .

OMG I'm going to cry. I had no idea it closed--I feel like I was just there. I'm PISSED. I totally could have stocked up. Now my only choice for movies is Best Buy? Um, no thanks.

Charming Charlie! A great store at Patriots Place...would be even better in Dedham :)
