Visions for Vacancies in Dedham: 160,000 Square Feet

What do you want to see go into a large space on Rustcraft Road.

Our new Visions for Vacancies feature begins this week, a spot where you can have your say and sound off on what a vacant business property should become before plans are drawn.

Each week Dedham Patch will highlight a vacant building or structure in the Dedham community.

This week, we are looking to one of the larger empty spaces in Dedham. There is up to 160,000 square feet of available space at 100 Rustcraft Road, part of a larger 500,000 square-foot building, including the American Red Cross.

The space is within walking distance to a MBTA train station and has plenty of parking (plus great landscaping).

Town officials toyed with a municipal building that would've fit inside the building, but a decision to try to build a police station elsewhere seems to put a municipal building on the back-burner.

So what type of business do you want to see go into the Rustcraft Road facility? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
