Serving as a home to such major shopping hubs as the Dedham Mall and Legacy Place, it's no secret that traffic can be a bit hectic in Dedham during the holidays.
But if you're looking to avoid the larger retail establishments for some last-minute holiday shopping in the area, there is an alternative: Dedham Square.
The nonprofit Dedham Square Circle, in fact, has recently made a number of suggestions for where to shop in the area.

"The small businesses in the Square and around town need your patronage this holiday season," the group posted to its Facebook page Saturday.
In addition to listing a "Close to Home Holiday Gift Guide" on its website, the organization has listed on Facebook a number of venues in Dedham Square at which local residents and shoppers can finish up any last-minute shopping before Christmas arrives on Wednesday.

Among the suggestions include visiting the Dedham Square Artist Guild for unique gifts that range from photography to stained glass and pottery to sculptures and fabrics. Shoppers are also encouraged to visit Maribu's Facbeook page to get the latest on daily deals up through Christmas.
Not sure what to do about food? Dedham Square Circle recommends checking out the catering menus at several area restaurants in the Square.
