Today is the first day of Lent. For many Christians, Tuesday night is usually spent eating before starting the six week fast. And some were at the Summer Shack, 850 Providence Hwy. in Dedham, for their Mardi Gras-Fat Tuesday menu.
The menu featured New Orleans inspired dishes such as BBQ Jumbo Gulf Shrimp and Crab Imperial Stuffed Crab Back.
Restaurant Manager Vincent Lombardi chose the Mardi Gras theme because he wanted to bring a taste of New Orleans to Dedham.
"I love New Orleans," he said. "but most importantly I wanted to bring the Cajun experience. Food is love and it's such a sexy, beautiful thing; and I wanted to bring that."
