Dedham Square Improvement Project Update, July 15

Here's this week's Dedham Square Project update.

This week there will be night work done along with work during the day on Thursday.  The night work will start on Monday night.

According to the contractors, they will work on the installation of the brick paver crosswalks with granite curb edging at the intersection of High Street and Washington Street. The roadway will be closed while construction is taking place and detours will be established to navigate around the work area.

Also contractors will be working on temporary pavement markings on High Street, from Maple Place to Court Street Monday night, weather permitting. The roadway will not be closed, however no on-street parking will be allowed on High Street from Court Street to Maple Place.

The contractors will also start to place transition pavement wherever the new pavement ends. The contractor will be milling the top 2” of the existing roadway asphalt to blend the new roadway into the existing roadway for the installation of the final layer of asphalt.  These transitions will be placed on Old River Place, Pearl Street, Maple Place, Church Street and High Street.

The roadway will be closed while milling operations takes place and detours will be established to navigate around the work area. No on-street parking will be allowed at night within the work area.

It's important to remember that on-street parking will not be allowed at night within the work area. All vehicles must be moved from the work area by 6 p.m. each day otherwise the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.

On Thursday, the second layer of asphalt will be installed on High Street, from the Route 1 overpass to Eastern Avenue, and the final layer of asphalt is to be installed within the Keystone Parking Lot starting at 9 a.m.

During construction the roadway and the Keystone Lot will be closed and detours will be established to navigate around the work area. On-street parking will not be allowed during the day within the work area.

On Thursday, all vehicles must be moved from that work area by 8 a.m., otherwise they will be towed at the owner’s expense.
