Dedham Daddy's Junky Music Closes

As the chain closes, so will the Dedham store on Providence Highway.

Less than a year after relocating just north on Providence Highway, in Dedham is closed, WBZ reports.

The Dedham store closed for good at 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the report.

Daddy’s had 20 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Hundreds of messages have been left on the store's Facebook page, most expressing sadness that the store is closing.

"Sorry to see Daddy's end its legacy. I have been a customer since the very beginning. Good Luck and Best Wishes to Everyone at Daddy's. Thanks for helping many musicians throughout the years," wrote Randy Armstrong.

A message on the store's website simply reads, "Daddys Junky Music Stores has closed for business on October 26th, 2011. Thank you for a wonderful 39 years."

The company's founder and owner Fred Bramante told WBZ that Internet sales hurt the stores because consumers often don't have to pay sales tax.
