Heat Advisory Issued for Dedham

Heat index may hit 103 degrees Wednesday.

 

There's no doubt the next two days will feel hot, hot, hot.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Dedham, which goes into effect from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

With temperatures expected to reach the lower 90s and dew points in the 60s, forecasters are calling for heat indices to hit the century mark, going as high as 103 degrees.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create the possibility of heat illnesses.

Long durations outside are discouraged during this period. People who are outside are encouraged to stay hydrated.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.

Call 911 if you witness someone overcome by heat and move them to a cool, shaded area.

Dedham won't get a break on Thursday, as temperatures are expected to hit 96.
