Dedham TV Fall Lineup: Sumo-Wrestling Best Friends; Varsity Football Games; Cooking with Fran

A cooking show, auto show, comedies, stories from The Manor, and more this fall on Dedham TV.


Beginning September 25, Dedham Television is premiering its new programs for 2013-2014 on its public channel.

Expect new episodes of returning favorites such as Psychic Voices, Political Edge, L-Style with Lorraine Morandi, Seniors On The Move, That’s Entertainment, Mrs. Pauley’s Kids’ Corner, Greater Boston Gala Girls, Oneness and Wellness, Bon ApeTina, Inside The Locker Room, Sunday Morning Sermon with Reverend Liz Walker and Ask the Administrator. 

But several new programs have joined the line-up.

Appleton TV is a mockumentary-style sitcom written and directed by Ward Bower, produced in the style of The Office, and loosely based on the happenings in a local public access station.

Building The Band — from producers Band Gig owner Nick Vecchio, and Max Weiner — follows a group of teens as they build a band from their first meeting to first performance.

Challenge Accepted – with Maya Acosta and Jeff Moran, a show about two best friends challenging each other in tests of physical skill. First up, sumo wrestling!

Cooking with Fran — local at-home chef and Babe Ruth baseball coach Fran Cawley cooks easy, sure-to-please meals in her kitchen. Fran’s popular blog, What’s For Dinner, Fran?, serves as the inspiration for this half-hour program with step-by-step recipes for families on the go. 

Dedham High Home Games - Paul Munchbach and Greg Agnew host varsity football games.

Dedham Historical Moments — with historical society Executive Director Vicky Kruckeberg telling interesting tales from Dedham’s past including death masks and founding families.

Front Porch Stories — Tales from The Manor from producer Jim Maher.  Recreating the nightly story fests from Jim’s own front porch, manor residents reminisce about The Manor.

The Variety Hour — Students from WashTone Performing Arts demonstrate their talents in an hour-long format with acting, songs, dances and skits.

Wheels — a look at everything cool with two wheels or four, hosted by Ron Brock.
