It was an unfamiliar scene for Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer on Saturday in West Roxbury.
The rock star wasn’t flipping his drum sticks or banging a Cymbal. Instead he was greeting fans at the front end of Roche Bros. and promoting his very own coffee line, Rockin’ & Roastin’.
“It’s always great to see people (age) six to 60 coming from being Aerosmith fans and just coming to see me and supporting my coffee,” Kramer said. “I couldn’t ask for it to be better. It’s been fun because while a lot of people are fans of the band, the bottom line is the coffee is really good and we enjoy putting out a product with my name on it that is really high quality.”
Dedham resident Cheryl Cuddy , who has been in an Aerosmith fan club for 23 years, was one of the first customers in line to meet Kramer.
Cuddy, dressed in an Aerosmith jersey, said she’s met the rock star several times and even loves his coffee.
“I follow him all around,” she said. “I did meet and greets. I love that he has his own coffee line. It gives him something else to do with his time.”
Fans young and old lined up at the West Roxbury supermarket and got everything from t-shirts, posters, drumsticks, and even the coffee bags signed by Kramer. During his photo and autograph session, the store played Aerosmith hit songs on a radio.
Kramer’s coffee hit the shelves of all Roche Bros. locations in Massachusetts in July. The coffee is available in a trio of brews from Ethiopia, Guatemala and Sumatra. They are currently on the shelves of Roche Bros. in West Roxbury retailing for $7.99-$8.99 per 12-ounce bag.
