This Week's Dedham Square Project Update

Check every week for the latest updates on the Dedham Square Project.

According to the contractors of the project, they will be working tonight from 10 p.m.- 6 a.m. to work on the electrical conduits for the street and traffic lights.  This will take place within two intersections, High Street and Washington, and High Street and Eastern Avenue.


Tomorrow, August 21, work will not take place in the area.


This week the contractors will continue to work on a new concrete sidewalk on the southerly side of High Street.  It will start east of the pedestrian bump out, near Cafe Bagel to Eastern Avenue.  The sidewalk will be unavailable for one week, and the four on-street parking spaces will be closed while work is taking place.

Construction will continue on the easternly side of Washington Street, between the CVS and Needham Bank, to High Street.  The contractors will be pouring the new concrete sidewalk, and is expected to be closed for up to one week.  And 13 on-street parking spaces will be closed during this time.


The sidewalk on the northerly side of High Street between Eastern Avenue and the "Cut Stop" will be closed for up to two weeks.  The contractors will be pouring the new concrete sidewalk and installing the new granite curbing.  The 10 on-street parking spots will be unavailable while work is being done.

And the reconstruction of the Keystone Parking Lot will continue, and is expected to last five to nine weeks.  Within three to four weeks the backfilling of the westerly postion of the wall should be completed and the contractors will make room for more on-street parking.


The town would also like to remind residents to take advantage of the parking provided at the Keystone Parking Lot.
