Five Things You Need to Know: Oct. 19, Oktoberfest, Concerts, Passionately Pink and More

Here are five things you need to know for Friday!

Todays Weather: Today you can expect showers, mainly after 9 a.m.  Then patchy fog after 2 p.m. with a high near 68.  For tonight, there will be more showers and possibly a thunderstorm.  Some of the storm could produce heavy rain with a low around 60, according to The National Weather Service.

1. There will be an Oktoberfest Dinner at the MIT Endicott House, 80 Haven St. in Dedham.  Reception will feature Hoponius Union India Pale Ale Lager and a Wet Hop Lager brewed with all hops and grain grown in New England with passed Hors' D'oeuvres & learn the History of Craft Beers.  The dinner costs $75 and starts at 6 p.m.

2. PathFinders Friday Night Affair will have a Movie Night event at 6 p.m.  The location will be at 269 Common St. and costs $5 per child, free for adults and children under 2 years old.

3. Chad Verbeck will be performing at Paradise Cafe, 565 High St. at 8 p.m. Chad has been singing, playing guitar and writing songs for most of his life. Playing in original band projects from Boston to Colorado, on the road and locally. He has recorded three original albums and has toured extensively throughout the country.  The concert is free to attend.

4. Join Teaze Hair Studio, 21 River St. in Dedham, to help find a cure for Breast Cancer.  The salon will offer Hair Services, Manicures, Makeup, Temporary Lashes, Barber Services, Pedicures, etc, all to Help Save A Life!! There will be door prizes and refreshments!  The cost for the event is $10.

5. And the Dedham Community House, 671 High St. in Dedham, will have Tai Chi classes at 7 p.m. This class for Karate beginners is open to all from the age of 7 to senior citizens. Sensie John Morash is the instructor for this class.  The class costs $102.
