Five Things You Need to Know for Veteran's Day, Nov. 12

Here are five things you need to know for Monday!

Today's Weather: Today will be partly sunny, with a high near 62.  For tonight, it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 46, according to The National Weather Service.

1. There will be no school in Dedham in honor of Veteran's Day.

3. NSTAR Electric and Yale Appliance and Lighting are partnering-up this Veterans Day weekend to “brighten the lives of homeless veterans” by holding a unique event to raise awareness of homelessness among our nation’s veterans by requesting donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, bedding and clothing for the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in Boston.  The event will start at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 296 Freeport St., in Dorchester.

4. The Blue Bunny, 577 High St. in Dedham, will have Pre-school Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers will enjoy short stories and a craft activity afterwards. The event is free and no pre-registration required!

5. And the Boston Magazine will celebrate their third annual "Taste" event at 776 Boylston St. in Boston.   Visit the chefs at their stations, socialize, sip, savor, and take in the setting of Boston's exquisite Mandarin Oriental. Don't miss this outstanding dining event, brought to you by Boston magazine in support of the Greater Boston Food .  the event starts at 7 p.m. and costs $95 to attend.
