Emeritus at Wilson Mountain to Host Lecture on Alzheimer's Treatment Breakthroughs

The free event will be held in Dedham next week.

Officials at Emeritus at Wilson Mountain in Dedham announced on Friday that it will partner with Harvard Medical School to host a special free lecture next week to share the latest results in Alzheimer's Disease research.

At the event, Dr. Brendon Boot, an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and a Neurologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, will discuss results for two antibodies, known as solanezumab and bapineuzumab, that target a major protein found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's.

Boot will also review a clinical trial, as part of which 10,000 people will be screened with biomarkers that predict Alzheimer's and 1,000 treated with solanezumab, in an effort to prevent onset of the disease.
