Dedham Patch Storm Center: Updates & Closings

The National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 8 inches of snow in the Boston area between Tuesday and Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning has also been issued for the region through Wednesday afternoon.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

7 p.m.

Dedham Public Schools announced Tuesday evening that schools will be closed Wednesday due to the weather.

4:30 p.m.


Due to the storm, all Ursuline Academy classes and activities are cancelled for Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The Endicott Branch Library in Dedham will be closing Tuesday night at 5 p.m. due to the snowstorm.

Dedham Bike announced that it has closed as of 4 p.m. Tuesday to allow for a safe commute home. Please call ahead on Wednesday to see if the shop open. 

3:30 p.m.


Gov. Deval Patrick has sent state workers home and asked private employers to do the same. The Tuesday afternoon announcement came ahead of a quick-hitting storm steaming into New England Tuesday afternoon.

12:55 p.m.

The Dedham Square Country Store has announced that, due to the weather forecast, the store will not be open on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and that Wednesday CSA pick-ups will not be available. The store will provide updates on alternate pick-up plans as they become available.

Wicked Restaurant and Wine Bar announced that, as of 12:55 p.m., its locations will be open Tuesday night as long as the weather permits. Patrons are asked to call before heading out for details on our individual store closing times.

11:30 a.m.

The Dedham Department of Public Works has announced that there will be a delayed start for trash pickup Wednesday morning due to the storm. Residents should also note that trash/recycling is delayed one day this week due to the holiday on Monday. 

Dedham's Transportation Advisory Committee meeting, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, has been cancelled.

The Dedham Health & Athletic Complex announced that its Wednesday 7 a.m. Bodypump class has been cancelled due to the storm; the complex will provide more updates throughout the day.

Heirloom Kitchen, located on Washington Street in Dedham, is informing customers within its delivery area that they can use the code "snowstorm" at checkout to get 50 percent off delivery Tuesday. 

A number of flights have been cancelled in preparation for the storm.
