Dedham Square Improvement Project: Night Work for Miscellaneous Tasks

The Dedham Square Improvement Project is winding down.

Good news - work for the Dedham Square Improvement project for the week starting Sept. 9 will take place at night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. - and the project is near completion.

"It's really winding down," said Jason Mammone, director of engineering. "The punch-list is not as invasive like construction in your face." He added he hoped the project would be completed in the next two months.

"The project is going good," said Mammone to Patch. "We're on schedule, on time, and on budget."

The following work is planned for the week of Sept. 9, 2013:

  • The contractor will continue addressing punch-list items throughout the Square. Project punch-lists consist of miscellaneous tasks that need to be repaired and/or replaced by the contractor due to damage or faulty workmanship in order to complete the project. For example - regulatory signage corrections, removal and installation of etched granite parking space numbers, replacement of bricks within the sidewalks and crosswalks and replanting or replacement of trees and plantings.

Several on-street parking spaces may be unavailable while work is taking place and "No Parking" signs will be placed at spots to let drivers know where or where they cannot park.
