Dedham Resident Provides Pro-bono Financial Counseling for Armed Services

Financial Planning Association™ of MA member and Dedham Resident, Austin Poirier, provides pro-bono financial counseling for a member of the armed services.

 

Financial Planning Association™ (FPA™) of Massachusetts member Austin Poirier, MSFP, CFA recently volunteered his time and expertise to assist members of the Air Force Guard with financial planning.

Poirier, a Senior Investment Advisor with Ballentine Partners, LLC in Waltham, traveled to Westover Air Force Base to meet with service members from the Air Force Reserve to discuss money issues including credit reports, debt, investments and savings plans.

Poirier is an active volunteer with a team of Military Pro Bono members from the FPA™ of MA that offers free financial coaching and planning to service members and their families. 

A resident of Dedham, Poirier received a Master of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP) from the McCallum School of Business at Bentley College and a Bachelor of Science in Management, Summa Cum Laude, from Bentley College.

Poirier holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analyst Society. A native of Norwood MA, Poirier enjoys sports, outdoor activities and spending time with family.

“We thank Austin for his donating his time and talent to work with the National Guard service members who serve our country,” said John Napolitano, President of the FPA™ of MA. “Many of these service members have faced long term deployments away from home and having a financial plan in place can ease the stress on them and their families.”
