Annual Dancing Fundraiser Pulls in $40K for Dedham Education

Contestant Alexandra Shumway won the popular vote, while Judy Byrne won the judge's vote.

The annual Dancing with the Dedham Stars fundraiser pulled in $40,000 for the Dedham Education Partnership on Saturday night, event organizer Dimitria Sullivan told Dedham Patch on Sunday. 

"People were having so much fun that they were on the dance floor during intermission," Sullivan said. 

Contestant Alexandra Shumway won the popular vote with her partner Kemar Bennett, raising a total of $7,682 for the night.

"The whole night was amazing and I could cry that it's over," Shumway said on Sunday. 

Shawn Greenwood and Judy Byrne coming in second and third place, respective. The judge's award went to Byrne, as well, with her partner Ferdinand Salonga.
