Riverside Theatre Works Kicks Off March Concert Series with Curragh's Fancy

Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park inaugurates its annual March Concert Series on Friday, March 7 with Curragh’s Fancy, a Celtic music trio based in the Boston area. This lively trio has performed at concerts, festivals, pubs, and coffeehouses from Maine to Florida.
Curragh’s Fancy’s music is heavily influenced by many of the best-known Irish bands, including the Clancy Brothers, The Irish Rovers, the Dubliners, the Wolfe Tones, and Planxty, to name as few.  Folk influences include the Kingston Trio, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Stan Rogers, and The Old Crow Medicine Show. Trio members Dave Leahy, Michael Kelley, and Bob Fowkes play several instruments: guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin, bouzouki, and tin whistle, and all three share in the singing. At the March 7 concert, audiences will hear many of the old favorites sung in pubs around the world as well as songs that have become well known more recently.
Last year, Curragh’s Fancy appeared at Riverside, and is thrilled to participate once again in what promises to be a memorable evening of Celtic music. The concert promises to be a great way to get ready for St. Patrick’s Day!
The concert will take place Friday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 - $15 and can be purchased in advance by visiting rtwboston.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111. Riverside Theatre Works is located at 45 Fairmount Ave., Hyde Park, MA.
