The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Dedham, MA and other New England studios are partnering together for a fund-raising “Dancing with Our Heroes” Gala to be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. We are actively searching Heroes to participate in our event. We’re looking for men and women who fit any of the following criteria:
Someone currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, or
Someone who previously served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, or
Find out what's happening in Dedhamwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
The spouse of someone currently deployed with any branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Heroes will be matched with an instructor at their local dance studio. Each participating studio will provide 20 Ballroom Dance Lessons at no charge to the Hero, in order to teach him or her the dancing needed for the competition. All costuming for the hero will be provided at no charge to the Hero. The Hero will also receive complimentary tickets to the Gala for themselves, their instructor and a guest. No prior dance experience is required, and no partner is required because their instructor will partner them in the competition.
