Upcoming Author Signing, Preschool Storytime and Committee Meetings

Five things to know in Dedham for Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Liz O'Donnell, a Dedham native and resident, and author of "Mogul, Mom, & Maid: The Balancing Act of the Modern Woman", which was released in November, will be at the Paradise Cafe Tuesday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. Also, join Women in Democracy-Dedham and special guest assistant Town Administrator Nancy Baker for an overview of town government at a meeting next Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Endicott Estate. The evening will feature an overview of town government and how it works, a Q&A session about politics and opportunities to get involved locally, as well as networking. For more information on WINDD and the Town Hall 101 event contact Liz O’Donnell 617-365-7172 or visit WINDD at facebook.com/WomeninDemocracyDedham.

2. The Blue Bunny Books and Toys will host a preschool storytime session Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers will enjoy a collection of stories with a simple craft to follow. No preregistration required, and all are welcome. The event is free of charge.

3. The Capital Expenditures Committee will meet at 6 p.m. and the Senior Center Site Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Dedham Town Hall.

4. The Dedham School Committee will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.

5. ICYMI: JetBlue announced Monday that it is halting all flights in and out of Boston through 10 a.m. Tuesday due to weather-related conditions across the nation and Federal Aviation Administration requirements for how much rest pilots must now have.
