Robert Downey, Jr.'s Dedham Connection, Phone Scams and Sports

1. A new movie starring Robert Downey Jr., who filmed portions of it in Dedham last summer, is coming to theaters soon. Find out more about the film and its release date here.

2. Dedham Police are warning residents in town of recent reports of phone scams, and to be careful not to provide personal or financial information to anyone who sounds suspicious over the phone.

4. Head over to the Paradise Cafe in Dedham Square on Friday at 8:30 p.m. to enjoy a performance by Paddy Mills, winner of the 2013 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Contest for his song "Bayside Massacre", and winner of the Rose Garden 2013 Performing Songwriter of the Year. The event is free and for all ages, and will feature beer, wine and food.

5. The Dedham Retired Men's Club will meet Friday at the Endicott Estate at 9:30 a.m. for free coffee and donuts.
