Friends of the Dedham Public Library Announce 2014 Book Sale

1. The Friends of the Dedham Public Library this week announced details surrounding the upcoming 2014 Book Sale at the main library at 43 Church St. The sale will feature a variety of hardcover and trade paperbacks, as well as Mass Market paperbacks, large print, children's, young adult, audio books, videos and CDs. All proceeds support the Friends of the Dedham Public Library, including the Museum Pass and Children’s Programs.The sale will take place on the following dates: 

  • Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Monday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (half-price day or fill-a-bag for $5. 
2. Dedham Fire Chief William Spillane will speak on the department's history and techniques of fire fighting Friday, Jan. 24 at the Retired Men's Club meeting at the Endicott Estate. The event will start at 9:30 a.m. and feature free coffee and donuts.

3. The Dedham Library Innovation Team is inviting residents to a free screening of the award-winning documentary, "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia" on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dedham Community Theater, followed by a brief discussion from an expert panel. 

4. If you are an artist from the Dedham area, be sure to check out all the offerings of the Dedham Square Artist Guild, located in the heart of Dedham Square.

5. Be sure to check the latest list of students from Dedham who were named to the Dean's Lists and honor rolls of various colleges this week.
