Dedham Patch Storm Center: Updates & Closings

The National Weather Service predicts 10-14 inches of snow in the Boston area.

Friday, Jan. 3

9:28 a.m.

Dedham Town Administrator Bill Keegan has declared a Snow Emergency effective through Saturday, Jan. 4 at 8 a.m. Due to the extreme cold weather conditions that are expected to impact the Town over the next few days, residents should contact the Dedham Dispatch Center at 781-751-9300 if they experience a power outage or heat failure and we will make arrangements to assist. 

Waste Management has postponed trash pickup for today and trash/recycling will be collected on Saturday Jan. 4 for the remaining routes.

Thursday, Jan. 2

6:15 p.m.

Whole Foods Market at Legacy Place in Dedham will close at 8 p.m. Thursday. Aquitaine, Legal Sea Foods C Bar, the Yard House and City Sports are currently still open.

Eastern Bank has announced that, due to the snowstorm, all Eastern Bank and Eastern Insurance offices, including its Customer Service Center (1-800-EASTERN), are closing at 5 p.m. Thursday, and more changes may be coming Friday as well.

2:18 p.m.

Dedham Veterinary Associates announced that it will be closing the office at 4 p.m. Thursday and will be closed Friday, but will reopen for business as usual on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Dedham Bike announced on Facebook that it will be closing at 4 p.m. Thursday due to snow and may be closed Friday as well. Please call ahead before heading to the store.

Due to the inclement weather all three of The Animal Rescue League of Boston's shelters, including the one in Dedham, will be closed to the public Thursday. 

Wicked Restaurant and Wine Bar announced that both of its locations are closed for the rest of Thursday, but the restaurant is planning to reopen on Friday. 

All evening group fitness classes at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex are cancelled for Thursday night. As of now, the complex is currently open. Check back for updates.

Due to inclement weather, the Dedham Public Library closed at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Dedham Community House will close at 4 p.m. Thursday and will be closed all day Friday, Jan. 3; the closures apply to the Preschool, Vacation Program, Zumba, Martial Arts and all programs and offices. DCH activities will resume on Saturday.

The Dedham Board of Selectmen and Conservation Commission meetings, scheduled for Thursday night, have been cancelled.

12:39 p.m.

Dedham officials have declared a snow parking emergency effective 5 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Officials reminding residents of the following details on winter parking regulations that will remain in effect through April 1.

1. All residents with driveways are expected to use same, and remove their cars from the streets.

2. Except where otherwise posted, residents without driveways will park on the EVEN side of the street during the even-numbered months, and on the ODD side of the street during the odd-numbered months. No parking on sidewalks.

  • Maribu has posted on Facebook that hours will be short today due to the weather; the shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will most likely be closed Friday. Meanwhile, the shop is currently offering 40 percent off savings.

  • Whole Foods Dedham posted on its Facebook page that it is reminding customers that it is carrying "snow essentials", including fresh baked breads, cheeses & crackers and of course, wine and more.
