A look at the men and women leading restaurant kitchens and putting together the flavors of Dedham.
Tired of all the typical fast food joints? Stop by b.good at Legacy Place in Dedham for an entirely new take on fast food. Unlike traditional fast food joints that tend to cater to those looking for the cheapest options available and neglect the quality of the ingredients they use in their food, b.good uses all natural ingredients in everything they make, the staff says. "For example, our beef is all natural. All the cows are grass-fed. Everything we use is all natural and is made every day," says Jardel Rodrigues, manager and head chef at b.good. Originally from Brazil, Rodrigues has always …
Roslindale native, Bob Wheaton, is living the food-lover's dream. He's parlayed his life-long passion into a career he loves. "All my life I've been cooking," says Wheaton, who began his career just down the street from his current place of work. "I was like 12 or 13, washing dishes at this place down the road. I just watched chefs doing it and just started getting into it," says Wheaton of how he was introduced to the world of cooking. Wheaton is currently head chef at The Olde Irish Alehouse in Dedham, offering a wide variety of food, but specializes in pub-style and Irish food. It features…
Bugaboo Creek in Dedham is not your average steak house. Don't believe us? Take one step in to its Canadian Lodge-style dining room and see for yourself.  It offers a unique dining experience that general manager Sara Grzesik thinks makes it stand out from the rest. "I think it's a unique dining experience. The décor of the restaurant, the talking animals, the stuff that's on the wall," says Grzesik. Grzesik has been at Bugaboo for eight years, but has worked in restaurants all over the country, getting a taste of just about every job the restaurant business has to offer. "I started out as a …
Fourteen years ago, in a pasta shop owned by his aunt in Brazil, Adriano Rodrigues fell in love with the art of cooking. Little did he know, his affection would lead to him becoming head chef at an Italian restaurant called Sagra here in Dedham. "I was helping [my aunt] out at a young age, and after I came to the United States, I started working in restaurants because I already had that [cooking] background," says Rodrigues. While working in that pasta shop, he learned how to make one of his favorite foods, gnocchi, a potato-filled dumpling. While Rodrigues has always loved cooking, he …
Meet Kevin Kielbasa. Head Chef at Aquitaine French Bistro in Dedham. It's taken a lot of hard work for him to get to where he is today, but if you ask him, he'd definitely tell you it was worth it.  His undying passion for the art of cooking has driven him to pursue this career since an early age. For Kielbasa (pronounced Co-bay-suh), it all began in Pennsylvania at the age of 9.  Like many a chef, his earliest cooking experiences came from helping out his mother and grandmother in the kitchen. "I'd always be really intrigued by what they were doing," says Kielbasa of his mother and …
